| Fun in the kitchen – the wonderful world of kitchen appliances | | Posted Tuesday, February 21, 2006 10:39:05 AM by Kate Grant | After you made your choice about the furniture, color and large kitchen appliances, it's time to pick those small kitchen appliances, that will make your life easier.
Choosing kitchen appliances can be a lot of fun, and can serve a decorative purpose as well as a functional one. Many companies and manufacturers, like Kitchen Aid and Bosch offer kitchen appliances in a verity of colors and prices.
If you want to give your kitchen a more commercial feeling, try using chrome and metal kitchen appliances. On the other hand, if retro kitchen appliances are more your style, Kitchen Aid is famous for their colorful mixers range, that are new but has a retro feel to them.
The colors range from surf green to almond cream and pink. Kitchen appliances reviews love them, and from checking with a couple of friends, they're right.
If you buy kitchen appliances second hand, at a yard sale or car boot sale, make sure you check the engine and blades, but it's a good way of getting discount kitchen appliances. So come on, let's go cook a gourmet meal!

One of her catchphrases will be immortalized in the 2007 edition of the Oxford American College Dictionary. That would be EVOO, short for extra-virgin olive oil. ``It's C-O-O-L,'' Ray writes us in an e-mail. Unlike ``yummo,'' another of her favorites, EVOO ``is not a made-up word anymore,'' she writes. She calls the term ``a time-saver. It's a mouthful to say extra-virgin olive oil over and over again,'' especially when it is your ``most important kitchen ingredient.'' For those who haven't seen Ray on television, EVOO is pronounced a letter at a time, E-V-O-O.... | |

| | | A stirring tale T.L. TEST KITCHEN By MARY THERESE BIEBEL | | Posted Wednesday, November 08, 2006 7:07:59 PM by Blog57 Team | | So I sat in the car Friday morning, balancing a slow-cooker on my lap, trying not to spill three quarts of sloshing soup as my husband drove me to work. When we neared the office, we encountered a bit of a traffic jam. Workers were hauling the city's holiday tree onto Wilkes-Barre's Public Square, multiple school buses had apparently discharged children at the Kirby Center, and loads of other vehicles were stopping and starting as they merged into one lane. Oh, please, let's not have an accident, I thought. Not only did I dread being drenched in Autumn Chowder, but my overactive imagination conjured a scenario in which police would investigate the crash and find the two tablespoons of flour in my jacket pocket. "What have we here?" they would ask, fingering the plastic bag.... | |

| | | Looking Into the Hispanic Kitchen | | Posted Monday, November 06, 2006 7:12:57 PM by Blog57 Team | | (Family Features) - Hispanic families are steeped in culture and tradition, and no where is that more evident than in the kitchen. For many Hispanics, cooking is a craft that is learned by watching and doing. For some, it starts in childhood; for others, it begins when they marry. While recipes, cookbooks and ruled measuring are used for baking, they are not always followed for preparing meals. From measuring to mixing, the Hispanic's key kitchen tool is one's hand. Cooking is all about having a "feel" for it, understanding what it takes to make the meal honor its heritage and come out right every time. "Blending" American and Hispanic KitchensWhile traditional commercial cookbooks abound in American households, Hispanics keep recipes that are handed down through generations, according to research conducted by Practica Group LLC for Whirlpool.... | |
